Sustainability
Our Sustainability team provides a renewable energy analysis to showcase the different options of renewable technologies and to determine the best ‘fit’ in terms of space requirements, estimated CO2 savings and payback periods for our clients. Working with our engineers we integrate low energy techniques and technologies into our design, making sure we deliver efficient and effective buildings to our clients without incurring high costs.
With an in-house low carbon consultant, level 5 commercial energy assessor and SAP assessor, dowling blunt offers energy performance analysis for both commercial new builds, existing buildings and domestic/ residential issuing both EPC and energy reports for BREEAM assessments and residential assessments. As part of our services, we also provide carbon reduction advice and energy surveys.Incorporating renewable energy in to building design to further reduce carbon footprint) throughout the entire cycle of the design process.
Lighting Design
The image below is a lighting 3D render modelled by dowling blunt using Dialux software. The model is exported and rendered using Povray to produce high quality images for client presentation.
Accurate lux level plots and false colour renders for internal, external and emergency lighting designs can also be produced by our in-house lighting designers to the client brief whilst incorporating all relevant British Standards and regulations.
BIM
dowling blunt are committed to BIM in our design process. The major refurbishment of John Lewis Oxford Streets 2nd & 3rd floor home department being designed in tandem BIM/CAD and the new 5th Floor refurb being entirely designed in Revit. We are actively seeking new BIM based projects.
